It was only a little while that I stepped away and suddenly you were gone.

Now my heart aches, sometimes my eyes leak, my soul mourns, and our family is broken.
My life is changed forever with this transition that came so swiftly.

My husband, my friend, my champion, I miss you!

Good, bad, happy or sad, I miss the times we had;

The adventures we forged, making dates out of doctor visits;

Watching re-runs of Gunsmoke, the Rifleman, and the Lone Ranger.

If only we could hear you tell one of those jokes so subtle

that you had to tell us it was a joke and when we should laugh.

Today, we honor you as a faithful husband, father, grandfather, friend to many, man of God,
community servant, and co-founder of the Springs of Hope Grief-Care Center.
We salute you as a soldier and Champion and the man we fondly remember as our gentle giant.

Thank God for allowing us to celebrate 50 years of marriage on June 21, 2019.
Wow, we just made it and what a blessing it was to celebrate. Rest well my love.
You are gone, but never forgotten. Your love lives on in our hearts and encourages us day by day.
